ABOUT 4PEACE
I was a young teenager when I first heard about the deaths at Kent State University. I had been keeping an eye on the draft as I was going to be turning 18. Yes, I was scared, very scared. I remember the first time I heard the words to the song OHIO written by Crosby Stills Nash Young. "Tin soldiers and Nixon coming, We're finally on our own. This summer I hear the drumming, Four dead in Ohio..."GOD we cried...
This song, without question, was a message to the world. Brilliantly written by four brave guys expressing their opinion and spreading the word. And now 35 years later their message has not changed. Its still about peace & they are truly an inspiration for me.

Not sure why I started this web site Maybe it was the song. Maybe I'd like to try and help or something. I am 54 and tired of WAR! My son is 20 and if there were a draft I'd encourage him to move to Canada. We are waging a war without purpose. Doesn't it require an act of congress to plunge our nation into war? Can anyone smarter than me tell me how this happened and continues to happen. I was thinking how wonderful it would be, if instead of spending 750 BILLION dollars on a war, we put that money into health care... or education... or in cleaning up the environment.

We have to try and stop this madness. I'd like to say we need to elect a new leader but thats too far away and everyone is sounding like everyone. Maybe we need to take another look at our constitution and abolish the two party system. I loved the book Miracle in Philadelphia about the framers of our constitution. In another book, someone said, "The Constitution is putty in the hands of someone who knows how to use it." Is that whats happening today. Can we stop the madness?
